Open Gardens - Success!
Written on 1 July 2009 by adminWe have spoken to friends of the gallery after the weekend ‘Open Gardens’. Pat, Andy and Janette, whom amongst others, have put in lots of hard work to prepare their gardens for the ‘Shore Gardens’ charity event, say was a great success. A total of £1250 was raised. The profile of the event was raised by the Scottish TV interest, so no doubt we can expect a lot more visitors to Blairmore and the nearby villages. Each garden attracted around 160 visitors, who commented on the variety and innovation of design on display.
Davy Brown
Written on 22 June 2009 by adminDavy Brown - Exhibition now on at the Gallery until Wednesday 22nd July with a mixture of landscapes and the stunning sunsets often seen on the Scottish West Coast. Davy is one of the foremost contemporary Scottish artists and his work is very collectable, so why not invest in some quality art works.

Keith wins award…
Written on 15 June 2009 by admin
Wow! Keith Salmon’s atmospheric, innovative paintings have netted him Scotland’s biggest painting prize, the £20,000 Jolomo Award for Scottish Landscape Painting.
He received his award on 12th June at a dinner at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow. The founder of the awards, painter John Lowrie Morrison – known as Jolomo – praised his “intensely personal vision… which is sheer poetry in expression and handling of materials”. He talked about Salmon’s work in relation to the 19th century German artist Caspar David Friedrich, who advised artists to “see your picture first with the eye of the spirit”.
We have a long association with Keith and are pleased to be the only Gallery in Cowal with his work.
